Get ready to travel from Delhi to Jammu Kashmir by Expressway road in Just 6 Hours

Currently, the road infrastructure authorities in India are working tirelessly to accelerate the construction of this monumental expressway. The objective is to complete the section of the road leading to Jammu by May 2024, with the Katra segment expected to be ready by June 2025. This project aims to drastically reduce the travel time between Delhi and Amritsar, which currently stands at eight hours
Nitin Gadkari, the man in charge of India's roads, has set a clear directive for the National Highway Authority to prioritize the expressway's swift completion. The timeline aligns with the MCC (Model Code of Conduct), related to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The inauguration of this expressway is anticipated to be a momentous occasion, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi laying the foundation stone in August 2022.
The new expressway is being built quickly and will cost around 40,000 crore rupees. It will start at the border of Delhi's Bahadurgarh area. The first part of the road will go to Gurdaspur, and then another part will connect Nakodar to Amritsar. Later on, they will finish building the road that goes from Gurdaspur to Katra.
According to the report, the new road will make it easier to travel from Delhi to places like Jind, Sangrur, Malerkotla, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Gurdaspur. As you get closer to Nakodar, the road will split into two parts. One part will go to Amritsar, and the other will go to Katra (Jammu). This road will also connect to another important road called NH-44, which goes from Srinagar to Jammu. They will also make the road between Rajbagh and Dayala Chakk wider and develop its 6-lane corridor.

The Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway is not just about efficient travel; it also aims to make visiting significant religious sites more convenient. Travelers will find amenities such as eateries, bus stops, truck rest areas, entertainment facilities, medical centres for emergencies, police stations, fire departments, and ambulance services along the route. This holistic approach ensures a safe and comfortable journey for both tourists and travellers alike.
As construction progresses on this monumental expressway, it promises to not only transform travel but also strengthen cultural and economic ties between these dynamic states. The Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway represents a beacon of progress and unity, bringing the dream of faster and more accessible travel within reach.
