The onset of spring in Ladakh welcomes travellers with blooming Apricot which offers a rare but delightful eye treat to Ladakh Visitors. April to July are best months to visit Leh Ladakh for many reasons whether it is motorbiking or sightseeing which get enhanced with pretty blossoms of Apricot. Apricot blossoms signals the beginning of spring after severe cold days of winter and entire area of Ladakh get covered with white sheet of flowers.
The festival has been introduced last year 2021. Yoi can compare it with Japan’s Cherry blossom festival. With many tourism initiatives, Ladakh is planning to make the UT a great international tourist destination with unique things & activities to explore. In local language it is also called as Chuli Mendoq Festival and celebrated with display of local handicrafts, artisan works & wooden sculpture works.

Venue: As per the reports, it will be held in different places of Leh & Kargil. Domkhar Dho, Achinathang, Skuru & Tertsey are places in Kargil while Garkhone, Sanjak & Karkichu are places of event in Leh.
Apricot is also known as Chulli in Ladakhi language famous from ancient time of silk trade routes. It has become integral part of Ladakh’s culture, heritage & economy. Every year during the month of April, Ladakh valleys become vibrant and colourful with abundant of Apricot trees & flowers. The festival is celebrated with traditional zeal and excitement.
