Chhattisgarh is set to kick off its weekend with a local food festival for people from all over India. The festival is said to begin on 17th July 2022 and come to an end by 7th August. As monsoon approaches states are on the works to promote their destination for the monsoon tourism. The festival is to be held at different locations at scheduled dates throughout the state for people’s convenience and exploration opportunity.
Not only for tourism but for the promotion of its own cuisine, the Chhattisgarhi government has taken the initiative of arranging such a festival. Tourism is not just one aspect; hence, this festival will help people understand the local culture, traditions, food and language with in-depth knowledge splurged by the locals.
A lot of people don’t have any idea about the Chhattisgarhi cuisine or dishes which just goes to mark the importance of this event even more. The food of Chhattisgarhi is very diverse, ranging from the hot red ant chutney to fara or chousela roti (rice puris) to traditional liquor made of mahua flowers. One very particular sweet dish, Tilgur or Til Ke Ladoo has its origin from this city as well. There are both tribe- and region-specific. One will be inundated with options.
As the Rice Bowl of India, Chhattisgarh is also quite famous for cultivating and consuming a lot of rice throughout the state. With so much mysteries and so little we know, this festival is crucial for culturally fluid people but also extremely fun for foodies. The state is also trying to encourage Cultural tourism; ecology, wellness tourism, and religious tourism.
The culinary festival will take place at the Hotel Grand Imperia in Raipur on July 17, at the Eco Hill Resort Kabir in Chabutra and the Shaila Tourist Resort Mainpat in Surguja on July 23-24, at the Baiga Ethnic Resort in Sarodha Dadar in Kabirdham on July 30-31, and at the Dandami Luxury Resort in Chitrakote in Bastar on August 6-7.
