On 27th march 2022, few days after his oath as second time CM of Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi has gifted his home city Gorakhpur with gist of flights connecting Varanasi. The move is very major in context of trade, travel & tourism.
The launch programme has been done virtually by Video-conferencing where Union Civil Aviation Minister also took part from Gwalior. Speaking on the Occasion, CM Yogi said, the state will have now nine functional airports connecting 75 destinations across the country.
For First time, there is air connectivity established between two important cities of UP, one- land of Baba Gorakhnath and one- land of Baba Vishwanath. With genuine pricing, the air route will yield to boost tourism and lower the vehicle congestion. All these activities will open up employment opportunities for youth. With a dream to turn the state into a leading developed state, the current works of road construction, air routes will be very useful to offer comfort to travelers in lesser time. New Expressways are turning the road travel condition in UP promoting tourism.
With focus on long term agenda, Aviation Minister added, there would be five international airports in UP with expansion of Gorakhpur terminal.
